Monster's Inc Birthday Bash

Earlier this spring I was ordering supplies for my daughter's Sesame Street birthday party and needed to spend $10 more to get free shipping. I browsed the site and decided I would order supplies for my son's first birthday party as well. This meant I had to pick a theme and since his nursery is done in cute little monsters, I thought Monster's Inc would be appropriate. At the time I didn't know they were coming out with Monster's University this summer, which worked out perfectly since there were Monster supplies everywhere! When I started pinning things online, everyone was re-pinning all my Monster's items. Must be a hot party theme due to the new movie (which I took my daughter to see for her first movie and it was great).

Scream canisters. Everyday new people re-pin this post. Easily made from empty Pringles cans, yellow spray paint, electrical tape, duct tape, and a red-sharpie. This blogger used them for holding favors, but I just made a few for decoration. People who didn't see the movie, didn't get it - but I loved them.
Monsters Inc. birthday bash scream canisters made out of Pringles cans. I love these. Lots of good party ideas on this blog.

I used blue and green for the party colors to focus on Mike and Sulley.
Love the lime green and blue for a color theme

Someone suggested using paper lanterns and putting an eye and horns on to make it look like Mike.

I made my own little picture display of monthly pictures and cut out clip art pictures of Mike and Sulley to add to it. Used blue and green scrapbooking paper with candy sticks and dollar store containers. Made easy centerpieces.

I had the smash cake and cupcakes made. I simply didn't have time to cook and decorate my own. Plus they did such a nice job without me having to stress (too much).

Since Monster's University was playing in theaters, most of the local grocery stores had boxes of decorated sugar cookies, so I put some of those out as well. My daughter's first Halloween costume was a monster so I took a picture of him in it and used it on his invitation.

The whole reason behind this party was I ordered these cute first birthday supplies online.
